In the episode that aired last night (December 9, 2009), The Goop on the Girl held quite a few surprises. For starters, Zooey Deschanel guest starred as a distant relative of Dr. Temperance Brennan. The actress who plays Brennan, Emily Deschanel, is the real life sister of Zooey, so it was quite a pleasant episode to see the two sisters work together on Bones.
The case of the episode revolved around a Santa Claus for their Christmas episode. When in the midst of a botched robbery, Santa Claus blew himself up. The question of the case is: who is he, and why did he blow himself up? Then Brennan wants to go to El Salvador for Christmas, but her father wants her to spend the holidays with him. Also invited to the Christmas event is Margaret Whitesell, a newly discovered distant relative to the family. Margaret is the character portrayed by Zooey Deschanel.
Zooey Deschanel has been a supporting character in such movies as Failure to Launch and Live Free or Die Hard. Recently, she has played a central character in the movies Yes, Man and The Happening. She usually plays a quirky character with her bright blue eyes and shockingly dark hair. She resembles Katy Perry with her bright red lipstick, pale skin, and bohemian dark ensemble.
